RED ROSE RATINGS - WALES 21 - 13 ENGLAND

RED ROSE RATINGS – WALES 21 - 13 ENGLAND                Date: 23rd February 2019                Location: Principality Stadium, Cardiff, Wales                Referee: Jaco Peyper                Attendance: 74,000 England's dreams of a grand slam were ended by a dogged Welsh outfit that remain unbeaten. The Red Roses were unable to generate anything close to the levels of attacking success they'd enjoyed in their previous two encounters. Despite a solid start in the first half it was Warren Gatland's side that came out roaring in the second period as they smothered the English on their way to a superb test match win. 15 – Elliot Daly (Wasps) – 5 Was well wide of the mark early on with a long-range penalty attempt. All at sea in the final moments as he lost out to Josh Adams under the high ball but did have a few breaks forward that offered a reminder of his footwork and speed. 14 – Jack Nowell (Exeter Chiefs) - 7 Continued his impressive Six Nations

RED ROSE RATINGS – ENGLAND 44 - 8 FRANCE                Date: 2nd February 2019                Location: Twickenham Stadium, London, England                Referee: Nigel Owens                Attendance: 82,000 Johnny May scored three tries inside the first half an hour as a rampant England put France to the sword at Twickenham. Its now two wins from two for England whilst France are still chasing their first win of the 2019 6 Nations championship. 15 – Elliot Daly (Wasps) – 8 One of his best games under the high ball in an England shirt and was equally impressive when running at the often broken Frence defence. Put a wonderful kick in behind for Johnny May to race onto and dot down inside the first two minutes yet again. 14 – Chris Ashton (Sale Sharks) - 7 No fault of his that his opposite number bagged a hat-trick, although he could argue it was his supporting run that warranted England's penalty try. Was asked very few defensive questions but tackled wh

RED ROSE RATINGS – IRELAND 20 - 32 ENGLAND                Date: 2nd February 2019                Location: Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Ireland                Referee: Jerome Garces                Attendance: 51,000 England started their World Cup year with a brilliant win away from home against a much-fancied Irish side. The Red Rose came away with all five points as they put on a totally dominant display which saw them score the first of their four tries after just 90 seconds. Up until that point England had gone 8 years without scoring at the home of Irish rugby. 15 – Elliot Daly (Wasps) – 7 Will still have his high ball capabilities discussed in detail but was the better of the fullbacks in a game where such a position was critical. Lovely little grubber through for his try and showed an eagerness to chase what would normally have been a lost cause. Also involved in the build up to the score which got England going. 14 – Jack Nowell (Exeter Chief
